When it comes to insurance attorney’s you can only be reminded of “The Runaway Jury” by John Grisham. Instead of you hiring an attorney for a settlement they come to you and offer less than what you deserve.
It is not uncommon to hear of people who have been in accidents receiving phone calls from someone who claims to be a representative of the driver’s insurance company. They will even tell you they are if you go to a certain doctor or chiropractor they will cover all expenses. Scam at its best.
Maybe the insurance company sends someone to your door and they tell you they are there to take you to the doctor or chiropractor, again you are told this will not cost you a dime. Nice Try!
Unless you have been injured on the job no insurance company will arrange your treatment. You see, if the insurance company didn’t it would create more injuries, many unnecessary, costing the employer more. When the employer pays out large sums it is recuperated by raising employee rates. If a person receiving unnecessary treatment is harmed by a doctor, chiropractor or other medical persons they could be sued for medical malpractice.
Insurance companies won’t give you a ride to the doctors. If there is an injury while doing so they can be sued, they want to make money, keep money, they do not want to be in a position where they can be sued.
On the same concept no reputable doctor will send someone to your door. Home visits are not like they used to be after all. In-person solicitation is just plain wrong. It can create the possibility of someone (the person at your door-the runner) being charged of practicing law with no license. Only licensed attorneys may practice law and they should be the ones advising you about your rights.
McCutchen and Sexton see many solicitations, runners, looking for the victim accident. Some companies claim a free first visit only to be billed for large sums later.
If you have been involved in an accident and you have not already contacted an attorney McCutchen and Sexton are happy to take your call. They are experienced in personal injury laws. The goal, after all, is to stop anyone from being a victim of the large insurance companies.
